Wheat acts on those same receptors. So we eat bread, pasta, bagels, etc, and we still feel so hungry, we feel we need to eat more, when in reality we are not actually hungry but our brains are telling us to consume more carbs. The only way to break that cycle is to cut the carbs.
I cut the carbs. It took about a week, but then my hunger went way down. I really was astonished. The only carbs I consumed were fruits and vegetables. I felt so much better after doing that. So, just something to think about. Good luck!
Lunch: This is just MY lunch, and I'm sure someone else would probably want something different. I eat a 16 oz bowl of tomato soup. 16 oz is actually a lot, and it really fills me up for hours, and the calories are low. I'm sure any type of soup would work as long as it's not a creamy soup or bisque soup.
If soup isn't your thing, have a few ounces of nuts, lean meat, some type of grain.
Dinner: I always start with a big salad. For the meal I have a small piece of a lean meat like fish or boneless skinless chicken, a big helping of veggies (usually broccoli) and a grain....lentil, quinoa, farrow, just some type of grain that isn't processed.
It seems difficult to get rid of the carbs, and it is for about the first week. That is the truth. Let us know if you decide to do this.
I focus on veggies lean meats and healthy fats.
My breakfast for a low carb day today was
1 slice of wheat bread
2 eggs scrambled with spinach and cottage cheese
then half an avocado mashed with some salsa.
lunch is a big salad with veggies and turkey and cheese
dinner is baked chicken and a veggie of sorts..plus I drink half my body weight in ounces a day..when I don't its even harder to control cravings.
