i'm just starting with my lifestyle change. Yesterday I went to the gym and ran and walked for about 30 minutes. After that I ate dinner. Then I resisted with my midnight cravings. I am glad I was able to pull it off. But im feeling impatient. I'm struggling with this for almost 2 weeks. But ive been up and down during those 2 weeks. They say its better to start small and accomplish small goals. I believe in that. But what if you are feeling very impatient??? I plan to drop 90 pounds. It will take almost a year i know. I am scared if i start small then i wouldn't get my goal. I am also comparing myself to others. They are boxing for almost 2-3 hours and hitting the treadmill after that.
I just decided to really start small. With that, I will be able to have momentum. And that feels good. I don't want to cram.
Am i doing the right thing???

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

Also, on wks there is no wt change, that is also a win, maintaining is a good thing. When we stop the uphill climb, we should be proud, because we can all be winners.....
Start small, then by the following month, increase what you do a little bit then so on and so forth. Just don't overdo it. If you have the motivation to do it, you will eventually reach your goal.
Workout more, make a change with your lifestyle and most especially watch your diet. Have you tried the paleo diet? Lots of people have tried it and really succeeded to get to their dream weight because of its nature. It's a low fat, low carb diet with a lot protein for your body to function properly.
With your lifestyle change, are you allowing yourself treats? I know with myself, if I'm super strict on myself then I'll either end up binging or going for a week eating unhealthily because my cravings got the better of me. A lifestyle change can still include having treats! A piece of chocolate (I find drinking hot chocolate takes that away) or your favourite treat at the end of the week. In proportion, this isn't going to make the weight you have lost come back overnight, especially with the exercise you are including too.
Try to have fun with your lifestyle change. And don't forget it has only been 2 weeks! It's going to be hard at first because you're only just starting out but I can guarantee that if you stay strong for two more week, you will see a loss and it will keep you going :)
And definitely try to stop comparing yourself to others. I joined a gym a few months back and was the WORST person there. I ended up cancelling my membership and taking up tennis instead, people enjoy different things and have different abilities. I bet there are people who would watch you and wish they could keep going for 30 mins (I know I would!) :) x
