Looking for dedicated weight loss buddies

MrsBarker
I have been on here for almost a year, and have had many ups and downs, (with weight and life in general!). I am looking for some new friends who REALLY want to lose the weight. People who are dedicated to giving feedback and working hard to lose the weight. I really find that the more people I have on here with the same goals, the more I want to do better myself. I have made some amazing friends on here over the past year and would love to add to the list, or find old friends lost along the way!! I want to lose 80 pounds total.. anyone with me?? Would love to hear from you! Good luck to everyone starting their New Years resolutions!

I gave my 2 week notice last Friday 13th. Now to join you fine people in a life of leisure and nothing else to do but to look out for myself....is it just me or does that sound pretty boring? My goal was to live to retire and I guess having to take early retirement because of health reasons wasn't exactly the way I had planned things. I just can't stay in that building that is reeking mildew...

I'm trying to exercise daily. I was doing fairly well until I sprained my ankle 2 weeks ago but now I'm getting back on the horse. Today I walked over a mile with my arm weights that are about 22lbs total. I was out of shape and it was hard on my arms. I also did my 30 situps. I'm also going to drink a lot of water and try to eat healthy. I do tend to have a sweet tooth but I'm cutting...
It will be fun!
I'm more active on the quit smoking board but I want to make some friends here too. I gained back my weight from my quit and I'm finding it SOOOOO hard to lose this time around. I'm on day TWO and it feels like FOREVER. I've had a constant conversation going on with myself in my head. I hate it.
I really could use all the support I can get. I may not have as much to lose, but it seems like a huge mountain that I can not beat. Let me rephrase that. IT seems like that, but I WILL BEAT IT. I am determined to lose 15-20 and look hot for next summer.
I'm on line all the time (as a support for new smoking quitters and a support for me too) and well, I'm here for you too! :)
I made a goal the other day to check this site 2 - 3 times a week and journal my thoughts and of course do the things that work: eating my fruits and veggies, keeping a food log, leading my weekly weight loss support group (I began a TOPS Chapter - Take Off Pounds Sensibly - group in Sept where you can bring your kids so no babysitter needed and no night time outing), going to the gym, being active with my little girl.
I signed up for 10 mile race the first Sunday of April and I plan on losing 10 pounds between then and now. I will still have about 15 - 20 pounds more to go (I will find a new goal motivator after April) but this up coming running event will inspire me on my weight loss (I have to complete the race in a certain amount of time or get kicked out so the less I weigh the faster i can run - don't think I am super fast - I am not).
My other goal for 2009 is that I also hope I can inspire you (and others on this board) in however you decide to you want to manage you weight. AND I hope you can inspire me. So use my ideas or come up with some new ones - we can all do this together!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
