i think it is different if you need to loose 100 or 20 pounds. with 20 pounds it is a lot easier to stay motivated, because your goal is so much closer....good luck to you all...
At the begining of the summer this year I had 40lbs to lose.. I've lost 20.. so now I've got 20 more lbs to lose.
For the first 20lbs, I had to eat less, eat healthier, and exercise more than I had been.
To take off this 2nd 20lbs I'm also going to try to continue to eat sensibly and healthily and to exercise even more.
I imagine.. that if I had another 3 sets of 20lbs to lose, it would just mean continually finding ways to increase the intensity of my work-outs to get results...
Either way, whether you're trying to take off 20lbs and then maintain your new weight.. or take off 100lbs and then maintain or new weight.. it means having to develop a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating habits that will last a lifetime.
Then as you lose weight, you become less overweight, and the weightloss slows down.
I think the whole weight loss process is just supremely aggravating to everyone! no matter how much you're trying to lose.
I definitely give props to people in the 100-to-lose category because you've got to go through your own thing (losing the first 60lbs) which I don't know about.. and then after that you've got this "ooh, I hope I lost 1 lb this week!" struggle that I'm going through to look forward to.
