While the word "discipline" can carry with it a sort of negative image of an imposed punishment, that is it not what is meant in this case. By discipline, I mean training your mind to focus on those necessary things required to achieve an objective. In this case, the objective is healthier eating habits: tracking what you eat, knowing your calorie goals based on your age and weight, managing portions, and so forth. When you begin to focus your mind on a game plan, you will find it begins to become a habit, something you do without the mental labor involved with discipline. Next, you begin to not even think about tracking and such because the habit is now a routine. You do it without thinking about it.
To make this plan work takes one very important commitment: patience. It takes time to develop but its worth every step. Not only is this plan fit for healthier eating habits, but it will fit into any aspect of live, including learning to see yourself in a more positive light.
