The only way I can lose weight sucessfully is by counting calories - so I work out what I am having the day before - but I am struggling to stick with it!!!
I am having 1300 - 1400 calories per day (3 meals and 1 snack) but still crave rubbish - like chocolate and sweet stuff. I cannot even just have 1 chocolate bar as once I have one its game over and I binge!!!UUUrrrggghhh why I am I so weak - has anyone over come this???
Any suggestions welcome!!

I'm horrified! I knew my insurance would go up due to getting a new car but I didn't expect it to go up over $2,000. I did have an accident with the snow/ice in the winter. I was just telling my brother that I have had my car since March 2, 2026 and have only spent $75 on an oil change. Now this! I called another insurance company and their quote was over $4,000. I guess I have to pay...

We all have 24 hours in a day. How we spend these hours is important. Watching a little bit of a video about how sitting affects us made me aware of how much sitting and laying down I do. Gonna have to work on that.Your turn. Tell me another truth.
The only time I really succesfully lost weight (and kept it off for several years) was when I did south beach. I think the 2 weeks of no carbs and no sugar....although REALLY hard, really does get rid of the cravings.
The only other thing I can think of is figuring our why you binge? I mean there may be something emotional?
Anyway...Good Luck, and let me know if you find a magic cure!
Its a shame as I go gym 3-4 times per week and I eat well 90% of the time but its that 10% of rubbish which is not allowing me to lose weight!!!
I have set myself the challenge to lose 7lbs by the end of February!!! so we will see!!
Hot chocolate is a good alternative.
I allow myself 1 choc mini bar a day.
I also have mini tootsie pops (20 cal ea)
By allowing all foods (good/bad) has greatly reduced my binging, and I am starting to lose weight. I am trying to lose 5 lbs a month...I met my goal in Jan....mine is a lifestyle change, and I will never diet again. My best to you.....
10% of your daily calorie allotment coming from less than perfect sources is excellent & you would not only succeed with that, you would be eating very well!
Perhaps you need a period of no sweets at all to break the cycle? Or, could you try measuring out what you're going to have before you start eating & then when it's done it's done...do not go back for more. It may be extremely difficult for you (I totally understand this), but you do have the power to stop going back for more, to tell yourself otherwise is absolutely untrue & just makes it harder in the end.
