For 2 weeks I've been working out every other day and consume 1300-1500 calories, 80-90 grams of protein and 100oz of water a day. I have about 4-5 servings of fruit, and about 6-7 servings of vegetables. Lean proteins and good carbs like Ezekiel bread, quinoa, brown rice pasta. I started my weight loss 4 weeks ago and dropped 10 the first 2 weeks. My TOM is next week so imnot sure if that has to do with it. I do about 45-60 min of cardio and then weights for like 15-20 minutes. Should I increase how much I do in weights? Need help here please.

Usually I get a daily influx of emails on health topics. An article from Dr. Mercola really stood out recently though because it mentioned that fat cells have their own mitochondria. Not only was this the first I'd heard of this, he also mentioned that fat serves a purpose in our metabolism. Another new factoid for me. The bottom line for me was to appreciate that even our fat cells play a...

I just do not feel well and I really think that it's because I cried yesterday on my way to work about my Aunt who is in the hospital. I don't think that we will have her much longer. She is very frail. Now she needs help eating. So, this is the third time in a year that I felt this way after crying. I think crying releases toxins into my body. I also worked up a sweat at the gym...

You are an inspiration, doing all that excercise and eating right.
Even if the scale doesn't show it, You must feel better living this healthy lifestyle.
I think wt loss is a slow process and as long as we are watching everything carefully the wt loss will come
Keep up the good work.
As you get stronger you will have to make adjustments to your workouts. That doesn't always mean more weight or more reps. Sometimes you may change the type of exercise you do or be able to combine exercises to increase intensity such as with a squat and press.
If your workout still gets you into your target heart range I'd say keep it as it is for a bit longer. If not it's time for a change. The same goes for your weights. I you thing you could easily do another set you're not lifting enough.
As for water consumption, articles I've read say that we need between 1/2 ounce and 1 ounce per pound of body weight. A huge part of that range depends on how much you exercise. I've done cardio where my gym clothing is dripping, so obviously I consume a LOT of water during that. On cool days where I stay indoors and don't get much exercise I do not need as much water.
There was an article here recently on using the color of your pee (sorry) as an indicator of how well hydrated you are. You can google that and find something.
I think our bodies have a mean sense of humor, and go through times where they deny us the weight loss we rightfully deserve!
