Diets & Weight Maintenance Support Group
Chat about how well your latest diet is -- or is not -- working. This group is a great place to find support and accountability as well as share success stories and valuable lessons with the community. From where to start to weekly weigh-ins, get help from others to reach your dieting and weight maintenance goals.
Maybe the first thing you need to do is choose a healthy diet that would be easy for you to follow. Don't get down on yourself, this happens to lots of people at one time or another, and you can get better.
Do you have anyone helping you who would be supportive?
Maybe something easy like a diet of shakes could help. Sugarfree protein shakes are very filling and come in different flavors. you can have some of them instead of things that aren't so healthy.
Don't give up, just start brainstorming things you think you might be able to do and keep posting on here. We will help you figure it out and get on the right path.
hugs.
If you see my threat Althas and his Diet, you will see exactly what I mean
EllA is exactly right. If you are having trouble, set yourself small goals. My personal small goal is to Get through today and stay on my diet. It is only one day. Then tomorrowm, I set myself the same goal.
It is hard, I will not and can not mask that fact, but I have found in the short time I have been here that the people are great and very supportive, so dont be afraid to ask each day for a little moral support, no one will mind, we (I am sure) wil lbe more than happy to do it
Have you talked to your doctor, there could be an underlying problem contributing to it. For me it has been depression. My doc was great in helping me with that a few years ago, and ongoing support from him. Have a meeting and have a chat see what he says
Big Hugs to you
I tried the Special K diet for a couple of weeks and managed to lose around 7lbs. It involved eating cereal for breakfast and lunch with the usual meat / potato / veg for the evening meal. Fruit or a cereal bar made were used as snacks between meals.
I have fallen into the same trap many times, but really all the self hate is getting you nowhere, so I would suggest making a gratitude list. As bad as it is now, surely you can find some things to be grateful for...your accident, although unfortunate, didn't kill you, so maybe you could look at it as a second chance. I agree with the others as well on the small manageable goals. You can pull yourself out of the rut!
I did not realize how out of shape I really was until I tried to get back into shape. It is taking longer than I thought, and I have had to readjust my goals and my beliefs. I have only lost 11 lbs since November. But I can honestly say that I feel better and I am in better shape than I was 4 1/2 months ago.
Keep a journal. That helps too. Good luck! We are here for you! The past is the past. No more hating yourself! Love yourself and your body enough that you want to take care of you! Take care!
Maybe there's a song that inspires you or a book. Anything to keep your mind more present and not thinking about the past or future.
Be proud of yourself for sharing your feelings here and being vulnerable to change something and help yourself. That is why you are here.
How are your eating patterns and how does food make you feel?
I would start simple and maybe lot and see what eating choices you make.
Weight issues really mostly stem from poor food choices and lack of nutrients. Your metabolism will start revving up once it receives good healthy signals from your brain. I highly suggest you go on a couple day cleanse and clear your mind.
I understand the negative thoughts my dear I get them too. Lately I've just been choosing to cope with them differently. They dont take me hostage anymore I'm not going to let them. but I do to feel sadness from failure at times. We learn from these things though. The main thing I learn when feeling like I hate myself is to be tender to myself and try not to process the negative thoughts But I have hope that you will find your way and God is everywhere and with you too........bless

Set small goals. make it through one day eating healthy and exercising. After awhile, make it a little longer. Set your goal for a week.
