you know when your clothes feel looser and when say your rings aren't as tight, so just keep positive and don't put everything into what the scale says.
Since every scale is different, changes are best measured by going back to the same scale to track progress.
Even better, as skinninume said, is to use the way your clothes fit and the way you feel to track progress. You are already doing this by looking to your body's physical signs.
That way when you start building up muscle instead of fat, you will not get discouraged by the lack of "loss" of pounds. Since muscle weighs more than fat, it can be misleading if you only focus on the numbers on a scale.
Go by one scale..
I posted re: frustration with my scale a while back and one DS'er reminded me to use a measuring tape too. Sounds like you'd really be encouraged by that!
Congrats on the good work!
Also, don't let that number get to you, it is just a place holder and a benchmark for that day! Take care and hang in there!
As a personal trainer/corrective exercise specialist, body fat% is much more important than overall weight. I am going to join a gym soon and have my body fat measured.
It has been my experience to see women who looked like a good weight but had a high body fat% when I measured them. I used calipers which is the one of the best ways to determine body fat%. Those hand held ones are unreliable.
I too go by how my clothes fit. How strong my body feels and the healthy food choices I am making.
I guess its best to just stick to one and use it once every two weeks or something. If u get weighed by the doc or at a class then just leave it until ur next session.
Man I wish I could take my own advice...
