Congrats on the 1st 5, you should go be with your friends and rub it in their faces. If anyone annoys you, destroy their sandcastles and watch them cry :) too harsh...nah : )
Have fun! Be bold and u may surprize ur self xx
Not to sound like an ancient crone or anything, but when I look back on my younger days, I am sorry that I spent as much time as I did worrying about the way I looked. I felt funny because I was underweight. (This was back in the day when actresses and models actually had breasts, hips, and butts.) When I look back on that now, it seems so ridiculous. People either liked me for who I was or they didn't. My weight and my looks really had very little to do with it. I was the only person at the beach who cared about how I looked in a bathing suit. Nobody else cared. I pass that along by way of encouraging you to lighten up on yourself. Try to set aside your concerns about your body and just concentrate on enjoying the party and the company of your best friend and others. Memerene said it right: don't let your body rule your life.
Congratulations on losing your first five. Be proud of yourself and feel good about hitting a milestone. You've earned some good feeling.
I heard something the other day that helped me a lot ...
instead of hating our bodies, we should really try to think well of them.
I honor this body of mine. It has seen me through a lot. Walked me to new places, allowed me to have a child, allowed me to walk again after a broken ankle, responded well to medication, let me see beautiful sights, hear beautiful sounds, feel a spring breeze, allowed me to hold and comfort my child, allowed me to do physical tasks that have helped encourage others, and so on. It might not be all that pretty, but my body still works!
Not too shabby. : )
In case it helps, here is the progression of my weight loss:
1. Day 1: I started working out with a trainer. I felt horrible about myself, but I had to suck it up and just deal with it and make a change.
2. Day 2: I started to at least feel better that I was doing something. Each day I felt a little better. Exercising helped my general mood.
2. 5 week mark: I had lost 7 pounds. Progress felt slow, but I was certainly feeling better. My weight goal felt too far off and I wasn't sure if I could keep it up through the holidays. I decided to join a weight / diet plan to eat better along with my exercise plan.
4. 3 month mark: The diet was really working. I had lost 25 pounds and I was starting to feel amazing. "Smoking hot" was coming to mind. I felt sexy and unstoppable. I loved exercising and eating right because it was making me feel so good.
5. 5 month mark: I hit my goal of losing 40 pounds. I feel and look amazing. My goals are now more focused on running and strength rather than weight.
So, my message to you is to stick with it. You might get discouraged and hate how you look/feel now, but that amazing feeling will come...sooner than you might think.
I'm not a doctor, but I prescribe some time with the younger set from your family and friend circle. I doubt that they understand the word gross!
Gentle hugs, and by all means listen to Beesley and GO TO THE PARTY!
Gentle hugs
