Let's try our best to stay focused and keep motivated. We can do this. We've already done it.... and then life happens and we gain some back.
Let's post daily so that we are held accountable for our actions and will hopefully get the scolding and/or encouragement from eachother to keep going.
Things here are quiet right now .. went out to lunch yesterday, then to a friends for dinner. Weight surprisingly is staying the same. Phew. I'm trying to watch what I eat . Just have to get in the exercise..
Had a little trouble lately with my asthma. no excuse not to exercise(well, if I can breath :) )
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.. I bet you are doing great with your weight.
I just realized that my post never ended up being posted yesterday... I don't know what happened???
I was so excited to let you know that I dropped 0.5 lbs again.
****new weight is...... 151.0 lbs ******
Wow. I'm so happy to see that number. That means that I'm close to my mini goal of getting into the 140's.
AND... I haven't even started my detox! That may push the numbers down some. Not much by this point in the game (as I've already been losing steadily) but something will budge for sure.
DH has finally jumped onto my way of doing things... not all the way yet, but his little baby steps for the last month-ish has finally showed him some results and he's getting really motivated. Yesterday he weighed in at his lowest in a VERY long time. And he looks good, I must say. He just got dressed and went to the store.
Just imagine if he jumps full steam ahead???? Who knows????
He's doing it safely as well, do you recall me saying that he was pre-diabetic???? He has to go for the actual tests now to determine what exactly he is dealing with (ie, meds) and he freaked out. He told me that he wants to lose as much weight as he could and get into a better life style for a bit and then take the test. He procrastinated so much. He would talk the talk but not do anything really. I started on his case (gently of course, lol) and, it may have sounded like nagging to everyone else, but the proof is in the pudding. Now he is so motivated. I'm really proud of him.
He even wants to do the detox with me but I'm waiting until I'm better. Perhaps this week. Hey!!! Do YOU want to do the detox with us?????? It is totally safe and it's a two-day thing! Let me know and we can plan a virtual detox together!
**important: this is not something that you would do often. It is based upon the plan I was on years ago and it's sole purpose is to get the body READY for losing weight by the healthy choices that you make from that point on. This is why I need to weigh myself everyday... it's part of the plan. It's to keep you on track.
Sigh. I just need to find the best days to do it. It has to work with DH's schedule this week. It looks like friday and Saturday would be the best so far.
If it weren't Superbowl Sunday today...... oh well.
I'm so happy for you. It's great that hubby is doing this with. you are very lucky. it's so much easier when you have someone in the house working with you.
what is the detox. I'm not sure about it. I don't know if I could do one that's all liquids for 3 days. just let me know what type it is. then i can decide if I'm ok with doing it.
I'm basically staying the same weight so far. i did do exercise dvd's 2 days in a row so far. now to just keep track and keep it going.
I am so proud of you. I hope you are feeling better. You mentioned that this a mini goal & here i thought the 140's was your final goal. LOL. Well, if it's not it's great that you are so close to your goal. Keep up the great job you are doing. I feel like I'm just marking time. Not sure what i'm doing. so ,, now i'm trying to take baby steps at trying to make sure I'm drinking enough & exercising. that's a big deal for me.. getting in the habit of exercise... it's taking me a bit more time than in the past. (it maybe that i'm afraid if I rush it I'll hurt myself again. so taking it slow and easy) plus my asthma has been acting up lately..
*I gained one pound due to the non-stop gorging of yummies at a Superbowl party. Yes, we Canadians do watch it and it is a big deal over here as well.
*DH drove back home (an hour distance) last night after the game in a snow storm/blizzard! It took us 2 hours to get home! It was bad. We considered turning around and going back to my parents but thought that the drive would be just as treacherous... so we continued. I don't know how he did it. I was his eyes on the passenger side to make sure he did not swerve off the road! You couldn't see a thing for many stretches! It was bad. I think we were the only ones who didn't know about the storm coming! Everyone knew. Gosh. We would have stayed home! Who would risk it????
I still can't believe how he drove home.....
We got somewhere between 20-30cm.(that's what they said in the wee hours of the morning when they announced that all the schools were closed) Now all is calm... the sky is blue and the sun is shining.
I'm curious to know what the actual amount is.
*I forgot to mention that your loaner car is my car! lol!!!! The huge car that you couldn't drive is my means of tooling around town.
I hope all is well with your car!
I remember the first time we went to PA (DH's cousins house). We also made the one hour trip to NJ to visit DH's cousin. It was just one night... we had a lot of fun. We went into NYC and went up the Empire State building at night. The next day we stopped into The Cake Boss' bakery in Hoboken and bought some yummies that we ate on the way to Conn. (DH's brother)
It was a crazy fun trip.
*It sounds like you are right on the ball with your weight and exercise. You have a good plan. Yes, baby steps are important... they get you on the right track and finally keep you there.
*My goal weight is 140. Anything less and I will look unhealthy. I could do more but I think that is a nice weight for me. After all, I experienced life and had three kids... I cannot expect to be the same weight I was when I was 25!
My mini goal is to get into the 140's....149.5 at least! Then I'll feel closer to my goal. I hope to get there soon.
*The detox is not all about drinking your food! I wouldn't be able to handle that either! I love my food too much! This is easy... You will love it. Basically you get to eat as much protein as you want to but it has to be animal protein. It has to be baked, boiled or grilled... basically no frying! AND you get to eat as much GREEN veggies as you want to! You have to eat oranges (we'll get into that). NO dairy or carbs. It's for two days and, believe me, you won't be hungry and you will shed weight. Unbelievable?? I know!!! But it works.
Let me know!!!!
I'm not sure when i want to do it yet but think about it.
Your detox sounds interesting. I may try to do it but I don't want to say I'm in ..... as I'm not good with eating just protein alone w/0 dairy. but it will be fun to try. :). I give you credit. It sounds like a good way to get your body into shape. I'm just in a funk right now.
I would drive the big car in the good weather however,, since i've not used it before and it was snowy and icy here i was afraid to test out a car that was a loaner , didn't know what kind of shape they keep it in. It drove lovely when i did drive it home and back to the dealer. lol
wow you did a lot when you came to the states. I'm glad you had a good time. How was the food from the bakery boss? Was as good as it looks?
I would love to get into the `140's too. i read once that 145 is a good weight for someone my height and age. but that was in one book only ... i was down to 159.8 and then i blew it emotions and not being able to exercise (dr 's orders) threw me off the charts. I've been having quit a few set backs. i would start getting back on track lose a bit and then get injured and have to start all over again.. when i stop exercising my eating goes into not such a good place. bad habits creep in. So , here I am back up to 177.2 lbs. not moving for the last month. :(. have to get that exercise in to go down. I feel like I've lost and gained the same 15-20 lbs for the past 3 years. that doesn't count all the years i've been dieting and losing and gaining...
I'm glad you got home safely during the storm. you did get a lot of snow. hopefully it 's melting a bit :)
You are doing so great you'll be at your goal before you know it
Yeah... we did get a lot of snow. It was determined that we got just shy of 30 cm. And, NO, it's not melting. It is frigid here.. there is some arctic chill that's descended upon us and it will be here until Friday for sure. It is biterally cold. The mounds of snow all over the city makes you cautious of driving because you don't know if a car is trying to reverse out of their driveway! You have to be careful in certain areas... where the houses are very close to each other and they don't have a lot of space to dump their snow.
One of the piles of snow in my driveway is as high as the top of my minivan.
And the morning forcast is that we are due to get another 5cm by this evening and overnight. Where are we going to put it all??? I guess I can shovel upwards into my driveway and dump it in that space that's not so high.
The cakes, pastries and cookies are just as good as the television show makes them out to be! The lobster tails, as they are called, are awesome. I can see why there is a constant lineup to get into the bakery. It really was worth it.
I did even more when I came to that trip... I just didn't write about it. When we got to Conn, we made day trips to Boston, and another state I can't remember right now but we went to the beach. It was a really hectic and fun trip.
Don't worry about the weight. It will come off. You just need to focus on yourself and get better and stronger. You will find a niche that works for you.
You do have a lot of snow. So far so good here. Snow then it melts a bit. just checked todays temp it's going to a high of 43 degrees nice. :).
I'm glad you had a very good trip. When did you go that you got to the beach? Did you just walk around or was it warm enough to swim? I should make a trip to the Cake boss. I'm only about 1 hour away. Like I really need that delicious stuff in my house :) lol
hope you are feeling better.. So far I've been doing exercise 3 days in a row. I'm debating about skipping this morning. will see after breakfast :). Watching my food. will let you know when I lose a decent amt. of weight.
Yup... add another 5cm of the fluffy stuff last night. I think it's more but.... it was hectic driving DD2 to school this morning. The side streets by her school were not ploughed and the roads were so bad. Everyone was crawling along dropping off their kids.
Too bad that she couldn't make the bus.
It's mild today... lol.. somewhere between -5 to -8. Then we are headed back into the deep freeze tomorrow.
It has to be milder for it to snow.
&*^(% groundhog. Another 6 more weeks for winter :(
I'm back to 152.5 lbs. So I'm one and a half pound more than I was before Superbowl Sunday. I hope to get back to 151.0 soon. I hate these setbacks.
I am feeling better, thank you. My throat is not sore and my voice is better and my nose is not runny!!!!
So , happy you are feeling better. I guess the weather isn't helping with your weight loss. You'll get back to 151 before you know it.
I'm glad you got your daughter to school safely. Why didn't she take the bus?
I'm working out daily now for 4 days in a row. didn't eat a lot yesterday as I was out of the house all day. Phew. Got in over 14,000 steps. and some were not even counted LOL. Down about 1 lb finally. afraid to mention it cause it could just pop up tomorrow morning.
I hope you get some warmer weather soon. the cold is coming our way tonight. Got to go.
Hmmmm...
I dropped 0.5 lbs and the new weight is 152.0. Good. I was one pound less last week and was on a roll until the dreaded superbowl party. agh. Nah... it was fun.
I decided to see what weight i was at last year at the same time. I went to the 2014 thread and found that I weighed in at 147.5! wow.
I'm only 4.5 lbs more than I was a year ago! I think that's pretty good.
aaahhh.... to be in the 140's again. Sigh.
I'll be there soon.
I agree with you.. To be up a year later boo hoo. .However it is winter and I wonder you checked your weight in 2013 if you were up . At least, you are going down slowly. I was down last year too.
I went up a bit this morning. .Thought it would be a lot worse.. I went on an eating binge of popcorn chips yesterday then hubby brought home twix bit size... Phew. damage not to bad Now to go exercise. Have a great day.
Doing anything with the family this weekend?
Have a great one
As a matter of fact... yes... I am doing something with my family -- my extended family, in fact! I'm going to celebrate my parents 55th wedding anniversary tonight. I'll be going for the hour drive and surprise the parents with everyone else, we'll take some family pics and then drive one hour to our destination of a wonderful steak house!
Obviously, we'll have to drive the two hours home but that's okay. The only problem is that we are due to get more snow today... along the same route we are taking. This is like last weekend again. DH and myself are a little nervous about it..
We'll have to scope things out.
I had to come in to let you know (and to also log this info) that I reached 151.0 again today.... after one week. It's such a nice feeling to be back to where I was but now I'm going out for dinner again. Yikes.
I'm not too sure what my new weight is. I stepped on the scale twice and got a different number. I saw 152 and 152.5. Either way, i'm staying the same or going up. I can't have this again.
It didn't help that we went out for dinner again last night. I tried my best to eat what I needed to but, when i got home, I didn't eat the rest of my requirements. And it shows with my plan. You cannot skimp on what your body needs to lose weight. LESSON LEARNED.
Here's to a new day. And what a day. Today starts my new exercise regiment. I'm going to work out for at least 30 minutes a day to get my heart rate pumping. I belong to the local Y and never seem to go. But today I went and rode the bike for 30 min. DH was very happy that I have a desire to be healthy.
I had a kitchen company come in for an estimate on Sat. Don't remember what I did yesterday
did you go to the party with your parents how did it go. Sorry you gained the 1 lb back. That happens sometimes don't give. Sorry this is short.. have to get ready to leave tomorrow.. emergency call from FL and have to leave suddenly. will not have internet access for a week i think. so hope you do well and keep me up dated on what you do. Glad to hear you were going to workout. Keep that up. We can try to support each other. Sorry I won't be around
Have a very happy Valentine's Day.
