What is your goal weight?
How long have you given yourself to achieve it?
My goal weight is 140.0 lbs and I have given myself until the end of the year to achieve it. It will be hard because of holiday celebrations and weekend parties.
I have 15 lbs to lose by then.
I decided to set a goal of losing 10% of my body weight by my birthday next year. So that is losing 23.8 pounds I February 25, 2013. I know it's a small goal but I don't want to look at the 80 pounds that actually need to lose.
I usually end up getting discouraged if I set a really big goal for myself so I decided to start small.
My starting weight 238.8 pounds my goal is to be roughly about 214 pounds by February 25.
October 31: I had a wonderful and crazy weekend full of family and friends. I had to attend five celebrations in three days. There was lots of good food and good company and I didn't deprive myself any of the pleasures I desired (food ladies!!!)
I was pleasantly surprised that I only gained two pounds. I have set a mini goal for myself to reach and then I will continue onto my weight loss journey. The mini goal is the actual weight I was on Friday morning.
Current weight - 155.0 lbs
Mini goal - 153.0 lbs
Weight to lose - 2.0 lbs
Hi Gomez:
Welcome to the group.
Losing 40 lbs is not an easy task and I'm sure you can do it. You just need to be focused and stay on track! Don't forget to drink lots of water!!!!
There are a great group of people on this site and everyone is eager to motivate those of us who need it.
yeah you're right shy16 is not going to be easy but i'm so dertimened to loose all this weight im so tired of feeling fat all the time so far i'm doing pretty good this weeek a have been working out for 4 days in a row i have never been able to do that i'm so proud of myself
@gomezarmand: What a great attitude you have! You NEED that determination to get ahead. Wow. Four days in a row???? I've never done that. Good for you. Keep it up and you'll see the weight just starting to fall off. Do your best to drink lots of water as you work out and try to eat a sensible diet.
I wish I could work out. I just can't bring myself to do that yet. I find so many other things that need to get done first.... and they need to as I just moved into a new place and I'm still settling in! I know that once I start I'll be hooked.
@gomezarmand: That's fantastic. You will be dropping that weight soon. I hope you are eating sensibly as well.
Just remember that if we slip up it's okay. That's part of our journey to learning a new lifestyle.
Yeah!!!
I'm happy to report that I have reached my mini goal this morning! I dropped one pound over night and this brings me back to 153.0 lbs. This is the weight I was last Friday... before all my celebrations. It took a week to get it off and the Halloween candy didn't help! Nonetheless, here I am and pumped to get back on track to losing the weight.
Current weight: 153.0 lbs
Goal: 140.0 lbs
13.0 lbs to go!
Hopefully I can still reach my target by the end of the year.
Just got invited to two events on the coming weekend. Here we go again!
Thanks Allison!
I really hope I can do it! I'm already invited to two events this coming weekend. Seems like I gain at events and spend the next week and a half getting back to where I was and then maybe lose one or a half pound and then another weekend of events to attend. It seems to be a vicious cycle. Too many parties going on right now.
I don't see anything in the future until X-mas! Let's hope so!
@Shy16 - My goal weight was the same as yours. But I think that may be an unrealistic goal. I'm shooting for 145 - 150. My main goal is a flat stomach, so I will wait to see how I look. If you don't mind me asking, what is your height Shy?
@Gomez - You can do it! I lost over 60 lbs it took me over a year to do it, but I didn't give up. I gained 25lbs back after my daughter was in a car accident. I spent weeks taking care of her and not exercising or eating healthy. Now I am back at it!
@Allison - My loves goes out to you too! We can do thi
@Shy16 ~ what I used to do before going to events when I was dieting I made sure that I eat before going to the event. That was a way for me not to go overboard. It's just like not going grocery shopping when you're hungry, because all kinds of crap ends up in your cart!! lol
@Simba: I like the way you make your goal about something physical. With that type of attitude you will have a stomach people will want to bounce punches to! You can do it. How long have you given yourself to accomplish this? Is there a target date or is it a day to day thing?
Why do you not think your goal of 140 is realistic? It could happen! Won't that be a sweet pleasure if you end up dropping more than you gave yourself credit for?
My height is 5 feet 6 1/2 inches... although I think I'm shrinking! lol!
@not: That's a great idea! I think I will do that for Saturday's event. I can't see it working for Sunday's event as I'll be sleeping over at my mom's and we all have to drive one hour for lunch!
Thanks for the tip! I hope it works for me.
BTW, it's good seeing you back. It seems to me that you have more of a passion now.
@Shy: Wow...we are actually the same height! I haven't really given myself a deadline yet, because I know it will be tough during the holidays. I think 140 will be hard to achieve for my body type. In 2010, I had to restrict my calories a lot to get down to 153 lbs for my wedding. I have been lifting weights, so I am preparing myself for the possibility that I may lose inches instead of a lot of weight. Either way, I'll take it! lol
