I am 23 years old. May of this year I was told I had ckd. I am going tomorrow to get a fistula put in my arm to start dialysis soon. My kidneys are already at 15% so its all happening really quickly and itd just be nice to talk to someone that is going or has gone through something similar...

Hey bub I know what ya mean. I basically had the same thing when I got out of high school 8years ago. It can be rough but as long as u have faith u have hope.

hang in there! you're not alone :) i started my dialysis may this year.. it was tough but once you learn to accept, it's not so bad..

Yes i no what you mean iv had ckd my whole lufe and im only 22. Its been difficult but as long as you have good frends and family u will be fine. Do u have facebook

I'm 33 and just started dialysis Monday, however they infiltrated my arm and had to stop. Now I'm bruised and swollen it makes u not wanna go back. I had to take a long look in the mirror and realize that this route will lead me to the future I want.

I also started dialysis at 23 and I'm 26 now. You're not in this alone!! It's tough starting out but it eventually becomes routine. Feel free to message me if you want, I really would like to talk about this with other young people my age. Hang in there

My advice to you is to stop eating any meat asap. Go vegetarian and no beans for a bit until your Phosphorus comes down. To keep yourself from getting hungry so quick have a teaspoon or so of an oil like olive oil or canola oil but not corn oil. Corn oil promotes inflammation whereas the oils I told you about do not

Hi! I'm Michelle. I know how suddenly kidney disease can sneak up on you. It's terrifying! I was a perfectly healthy college student when lupus appeared in my life, sending me into acute renal failure at 19. Now I'm 27 years old and beginning my third month of PD dialysis. What I am struggling with most right now is no longer feeling like I belong, well with anyone, but I feel especially out of place around healthy young people. Even my friends don't know what to say to me. despite loving me and having good intentions they don't understand, and don't care to, or can't bare to educate themselves on the realities of ESRD.
I've really wanted to try and connect with other 20 somethings and hear how they deal with these feelings of loneliness and rejection. If anyone ever wants to talk, about anything, please don't hesitate to say hello!
