My husband is back on dialysis after having his transplant of three years fail. We are currently training to do it at home with the nxstage system. Is anyone else a caretaker on here? I'm having a hard time dealing with Mt husbands anger and irritability after a treatment. He goes to bed right after sometimes and is horrible to our kids and myself. He even wishes death on ppl who may cut us off on the drive home or make a mistake while driving. It may sound silly to some but it's very frustrating to witness and deal with. Why does he always feel so sick? And why is he so angry all the time? I don't know what to do and I just want my loving husband back. I have multiple sclerosis so I understand what it's like to live with such a chronic disease. I know what it's like to deal with constant treatments that are unpleasant and painful. But I'm not rude and angry all the time. I need help understanding him. Thank you for reading...
I'm afraid I don't have any answers to your questions, just wanted to say I understand how frustrating it can be. Does your husband see a therapist at all or would he consider it? I wonder if there's more going on than just the treatments...he's probably feeling a lot of anger and frustration about his transplant failing after just a few years so maybe venting some of that to someone other than you might help him. I know first-hand that that's a difficult subject to broach though so I would definitely not bring it up when he's already in a bad mood!
