Stress can play a big factor. I know for myself that if I am stressed, those pesky numbers go up. And those numbers are not bad. I am at 5.8 to 6.5 on the average. That is about 115 to 125. Did you ask your doctor about your numbers? It is all about portion control. That is something that I am still working on.

We all get frustrated, but believe me when I say there are worse medical problems than Diabetes.

Get happy cause as was stated...Stress will play havoc with your numbers.

I feel ya! I am frustrated with it as well! My numbers are still to high and my high heart rate makes it very hard to exercise, And my vision has gone all to hell at lighting speed!

I feel your pain. I think not being able to eat what we want is a real pain. I do enjoy my sweets, but ...

I don't know what's worse diabetes of a fib. Both aren't good...

Ray, I would give anything to have your BG numbers. I start my mornings on the 200s and higher no matter how much insulin UI take prior to bed or even if I don't eat my night time snack. In the afternoon after taking my insulin and medications I can be in the 300s-400s. I know that some days I eat the wrong things and that I ten to be hungrier at nihgt as my not working now has taken over my life, but even when I follow directions I am still too high. I am on water pills and whatnot and nothing is working. They always say that type 2 needs to lose weight but I am not and never have been a large person so I am sick of their reasoning and figure that these supposedly expects have no idea what we need to do or what or numbers should be. I ma sorry i fI sound mean, but venting is all we can do sometimes and do whatever makes us feel good.

after 18 years even I get frustrated, so vent all you want but remember one thing don't give up

Ray, I too am frustrated. Frustrated at myself. I started cooking when I turned 40 and enjoy it. I am always giving away cakes, candies, manicotti, tamales, and anything else I cook but I also find myself sneaking a slice of cake, putting away a few candies, eating more than two manicotti's and freezing more tamales than I should for when an urge for them comes. I hear portion control is very very important and that is where I mainly am failing. I hate not cooking the above things because of people around me, well, some of them just need food period and so I help but I am hurting myself. I don't know whether to throw out or give the food away and even if I did that not sure if I wouldn't buy it again. Just really frustrated at myself for not doing what I need to do each and everyday. For me the doctor has told me it is life threatening. Why isn't it sinking in, I ask ,myself and just don't have any answers so I am failing now where as before when first diagnosed I was doing good.
