Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I don't think doctors put blinders on just to get a tissue box, what I think is that they are too busy and its easier to just believe everything that the drug companies say about their product. I think doctors are too busy to realize that every system is different and they go along with the commonly prescribed medications. I think its important to establish a very good relationship with a doctor, I think its important to change doctors if a relationship can not be established, and I think that every patient regardless of the illness needs to do a lot of research in order to ask questions. I love it when doctors ask you if you have any questions. If I know little about the drug or illness, I will not have any questions. That was my point.
They don't wear blinders..here is an example. I had a Doc years ago who mentioned to me that he took a pill for pain for something..He said to me my god it knocked me off mt feet and here I am giving it to these little old ladies and not knowing how strong it was...So it happens noton purpose but if they don't take it they don't know. Most times they just read orlisten to the rep because as Toty said they are busy and until someone tells them they are unaware of some things or effects.
