I am a newly diagnosed diabetic and it has really been devastating news. I know there are so much worse hings that could happen and I shouldn't whine but I really hate this. I despise having to plan what I'm going to eat. I just had bypass surgery and a pace maker and defibrillator implanted so I'm supposed to eat heart healthy also. I feel like I'll never be able to go out to eat with my friends again or travel and those were the great pleasures in my life. I'm a 77 year old widow. After my husband died I was freed of having to plan meals for a picky eater who was very hard to please. and I loved it. I do have my first consultation with a dietitian in 2 days.
