Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I would not use expired strips if I were you. But maybe once you get some in-date ones you can test with those and compare to the expired results. There will be some difference, even if you use the same finger, but if there is a massive discrepancy you will know for sure.
Also don't go testing every couple of minutes, numbers change constantly and yes not eating will result in higher numbers because the body thinks you are not going to ever feed it so it goes into survival mode and creates its own sugar, and then the pancreas will create insulin to process but with diabetes the two body organs no longer talk to each other.
did you check the carb totals for your breakfast? do watch the seeds since they can have a lot of fat
But I do not think it is worth it...
And YES! the eating consistently is important...
.IMO, not eating, and them eating the wrong foods can slowly but surely, trigger diabetes..
Now, to lower the numbers more, I think more exercise is the key - jogging rather than walking; weight lifting rather than sitting...
I also think that fat eating is tied into exercise....But this has to be done carefully, as, as Gayle states, the pancreas no longer communicates well....
