Oh wow!!!

Wait until she has some major complications. Yikes!

Oh grief! See that stuff just irritates me. Faith in the Lord is Awesome and yes He still does heal. Rebuking the devil in the name of Jesus well honey go for it! Send Satan running! But dang just because Jesus would have been caught by the angels if he'd jumped off the top of the temple doesn't mean he did it. I believe he said something about not testing the Lord your God... yeah... someone needs to give that woman a swift rebuke in the seat of her pants.

I feel bad for her, it is one thing to have your beliefs but when it interferes with your health that's another. She is sadly going to have it far worse in the future since she is denying the diagnosis from her doctor.

She unfortunately is risking her health and God would not want that. "Your body is your temple".

Hopefully she will accept her diagnosis before it goes too far and there is irreparable damage to her body.

She has a lot of misplaced faith with this or she is in total DENIAL!!!

I think she's more than in denial. I think she's off the wall.

The Lord works in mysterious ways! I don't want to gross anyone out, so don't read if you have a squeemish stomach, but this is supposidly a true story i heard in the news.

An undiagnosed diabetic was having toe trouble and was being badgered by his wife to see a doctor, He agreed to go, but wanted to get ONE good drunk on first, He came home and passed out only to find his small dog at the foot of his bed with a bloody mouth and the guy noticed his big toe was gone! Appearently, the dog gnawed off his necrotic toe, appearently saving the rest of the guy's leg from ganegrene.

I don't want to gross anyone out, but as diabetics, this is our reality. Yes, God works in mysterious ways.

Hmmm Was the dog ok???

I have quite a story as well. I was at a grocery store mulling over water chestnuts. Ever notice how one brand has no fiber and then others are loaded with fiber? Anyways - some lady asks me what is wrong and I said it is amazing how there is a big difference in fiber content with each brand. She asks, "why are you on some kind of fiber diet?" I said, "No, I am watching my carbs." She says, "you're a diabetic aren't ya." Then she proceeds to tell me how she is a diabetic as well and how it is killing her from the inside out. She lifts up her shirt slightly to show me her stomach, which she clearly just had surgery. Of course I am intrigued, as well as freaked out, and I ask, "what do you mean, what happened?" She said all that healthy eating ... whole grains, nuts, seeds and the fiber in general has caused more problems for her. She tells me to "screw all that healthy stuff" and to eat whatever I want, but in small portions. The key is small portions. She starts picking things out of my cart, saying I don't need this and I don't need that. I was still not understanding how diabetes or any of the foods that she mentioned could be "killing" her. Finally, she tells me that she has diverticulitis. That's when a light bulb went off in my head. It was not really the diabetes, it was the diverticulitis. My husband has that, so I know all to well what happens when he eats anything with a seed. She blames the diabetes because all the nuts and the seeds she ate caused her diverticulitis to flare, then it became infected, and then part of her bowel ruptured. She said she has been eating for the diabetes and it is killing her. Anyone with diverticulitis should have been told the foods to avoid, diabetes doesn't require you to eat nuts and seeds.

She swears by eating whatever she wants, but in small portions and she swears her blood sugar is good. I had to question that considering the things that were in her cart. She also told me that before her surgery she ate at McDonald's a lot - double cheeseburger and fries, but now since her surgery, she has nuggets and a salad. She also had two packs of cigarettes clearly visible in her purse. By this time, her preaching stressed me out so much, I wanted to smoke a pack of them, so I moved on! lol

Funny that she said she feels better then ever, but since I have been eating way better and exercising, I feel the same way. I will stick to what I am doing.

Every person is different in their approach at dealing with this disease. In the end, all that matters is how YOU choose to handle it.

It probably is true that too many seeds, fiber, etc. can have a reverse reaction in the stomach. Moderation is the key to all of it (but I don't have that word in my vocabulary)

I also heard the story on the news about the dog chewing the man's toe.
