Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
aim for 3 square meals a day to help stabilize, maybe 2 small snacks between - NO MORE pigging out, bad.
yes watch carb intake, read labels learn the amount of carbs for you based on your weight. No more white breads, rice, pasta, potatoes
What a change. hope I can do this; I'm retired but running out of room for all this P/W.
Yoy think 200plus is bad ?
How about ...321........362....293.....284 ??
Now, with the new diet, more exercise its...............
135.....153....140....187.....
Today...................
64....201....112........
The BG sheet from the VA calls for recording the # before the meal, 4 time a day......I do not think this is a good method...
Better seems to be 2 hous after a meal...
There is some organ in the body assigned to the BG control, this seems to have gone on strike.
I think checking your blood sugar before a meal and two hours after is a good idea when you are trying to see how your food is truly effecting you.
What did you eat to get the 215 reading, or the 201 reading yesterday?
Your numbers are all over the place, so I suggest you talk to your doctor ASAP.
You can do this, just take one day at a time!
Today, just cream of wheat, some Half % Half, NO raisin, no banana, the a cup of coffee and cereal ...
100......157......90..
The second meal was an egg/toast, a half a banana........
I cannot cut any further, I'll stay with this diet and see what happens..
In the past ten days, my BG has dropped nearly 100 per take (an average)... And I've shed several pounds.
Two meals per day and then a continuance of the highs with snacks in the evening....7 to 11..
This has been stopped.
Now, I'll split the large meals by half, eat 4 meals per day at 9,1,5, and nine again.
This I can do as I am reitired...
Keep a food diary, list what you ate, etc, there are a couple of sites that will give you carb amounts for what you eat.
This totals to 30-35 g, the coffee - another 5 or so.
Its shocking to read the labels(granola, wheat frosted cereal,Nutty Nuggets -48g for 1/2 a cup, and the "serving sizes" are tiny!
Bacon and eggs - much better !
This is quite the battle, which I will win.
Thanks for the support.
Walking after meals may help you also to get your sugars down,or if they up before hand walk before your meal too.
Becoming aware seems to be the important thing here and controlling your choices.
Generally anything over 150 does damage to your insides little by little.
Keep up the good work..your getting your numbers down!!!
C = coffee.
Two hours later is averaging about 200 for ten days.
What to cut ?
The half/half contributes little, the farina 23. the raisins 5??...

Make an egg sandwich with one piece of bread.
