Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I don't eat stuffing cause it's a killer for me. The only thing I know I can eat this year is the retrograded potatoes!
It's tough on the holidays because so many people make such wonderful things.
I try to stick to a vegie and some turkey with a little gravy and a thin slice of cranberry and now the mashed potatoes!
Everything i try diabetic..I don'tlike most times. I bet Toty has a few recipes that are good!
I think Arline said once you can eat a teaspoon of everything!!(sigh)
We cab all go to Losts house, I bet he makes his turkey in his crockpot and no desserts!lol We will be fine that way.

6 cups sliced apples
6 ounce can unsweetened apple juice concentrate
2 tablespoons cornstarch
cinnamon to taste
cup margarine
Splenda sweetener to taste
Double pie crust
In a medium saucepan, dissolve cornstarch in apple juice concentrate (DO NOT DILUTE). Add sliced apples and cinnamon. Simmer together until juice thickens. Pour into unbaked pie shell. Slice margarine over the top and pour on about cup Splenda. You may use less or more Splenda as you like. Cover with top crust and bake at 375 degrees until apples are tender (about 45 minutes).
check out here, plenty goods - pumpkin a cup sounds perfect!
I will take a walk an hour after eating and wait at least two hours after dinner to have any kind of dessert. Then I will walk again.
Even just 10 minutes of walking does wonders!
I have heard that you can follow the pumpkin pie recipes on the can and just substitute splenda for the sugar. I know people worry about fat content, but the fat is what slows the carbs - so for one day - I am not worrying about fat. Fat free stuff has less fat and more carbs, so I avoid it and only use reduced fat. I am making a pumpkin pie and using an almond crust. I used the almond crust for Toty's cheesecake and it was really good.
