My Aching Feet

For the past 6 weeks or so my feet have been hurting so bad I have a hard time walking. I can hardly walk in the morning because they hurt so bad and recently started to burn. It is mainly in my heels. I have tried massages and stretches but have not been able to get much relief. I am on blood thinners for another medical reason (have been for 4 years with no problems) so my pain med options are limited. I have not talked to my doctor about this yet. Any one have this problem or can help with some information please.

You need to ask your Doctor it could be a number of reasons. This is a Type 2 Diabetes Board, do you have Diabetes?

you need to discuss with a doctor. If you have diabetes then neuropathy usually starts with the toes not the heels

Thank you for the replies. I have contacted my doctor and am waiting to hear back from her.

Until recently I was in denial about all of this. Last year my doctor had me start Metformin. My A1C had been climbing as well as my fasting blood glucose level. I am due to have my numbers checked again soon.

I have a family history and my husband is also diabetic as ell.

I have diabetic neuropathy in toes and fingers, especially the fingers. I find when my sugars are high the neuropathy flares more. I have been on Lyrica for a few years, but my sugars are just now getting better controlled, but I can also feel it in the middle of feet, especially when I get a pedicure. Hope this helps.

Plantar fasciitis is a foot problem that causes heel pain, and this pain is usually worse first thing in the morning. 2 things to try. Keep a tennis ball by your bed and roll it around under the arch of your foot before you put any weight on it. You could also try stretching your arch before you put any weight on it by stretching your toes up toward your shin.

Might not help, but it won't hurt.

I have been plagued by this for years. I have a brace I sleep in when it's really acting up.
