No, hate to say, it can be that way everywhere. It took me 3 months after getting bent out of shape with my endo to get an appointment for my thyroid and I did the eye doctor, waiting two months per my primary who insisted I see an ophthalmologist but frankly my optometrist did a better job of examining me than the ophthalmologist my primary insisted I see.

Awww sorry y'all have to wait, I'm lucky I don't have to wait, it may be because I am on 02 they want me in and out quickly...LOL

Thanks for your answers. I agree with the both of you..Barbell I sir the ophthalmologist for 3 hours and be put in a room for another half hour get eye drops in.be put in a room dor another 2 hours and be seen for 10 mins but she is good its an all day event

Where I am, it is the norm for the doctor to decide at the appointment how long it will be before the next appointment (eg 3 months, 6 months) and they hand you a form, which you take to the receptionist, the receptionist then finds the next convenient appointment time within that time-frame and allots it to you. This is particularrly important for eye appointments and to ensure continuity of care as it is easy to let months slip by and not make an appointment yourself.

However it is also wise to get the direct contact details (direct phone extension and email) of a nurse I have found. That way if you can approach them directly, they can arrange an appointment for you which is easier than going via a receptionist and likely to get better results. I imagine they have a certain number of appointment slots left open for urgent cases or something, or maybe they have slots for their own work which cannot be pre-booked in advance and they use that time.
