Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I find that making myself a cup of coffee or green tea and sipping on it for a while will usually make the craving go away.
Warm = full for me a lot of times.
For me, it doesn't take much to trigger that hunger feeling. I have noticed that sometimes a glass of water makes me feel better. Also, I have switched to five small meals a day, which seems to keep the empty feeling in the belly from happening.
Water works for me, and also chewing sugarless gum. I was never much of a gum chewer before, but it does take the edge off when it's not time to eat. I also went to 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. Now I feel like I'm eating all the time!! And if I do get hungry in between times, I know that a meal or a snack is no more than 2 - 3 hrs away. :)
I try to eat about every 3 to 4 hours. Thanks for all of the suggestions. I think hot tea instead of the coffee might be a good option for me. I'm going to try that! :-)
Now with the other issue lol, there are ways to overcome that, so please discuss that issue with your doctor also..my hubby has severe heart disease and he also lost that function but with the help of a doctor, we do pretty good for senior citizens ROFL
