Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
Stay in touch and tell me what they found out about you!
I'll do the same! Be careful, my illness spun out of control and I ended up in a coma but I have other problems besides diabetes!
Send me a message if you want to discuss this in more detail!

Those sound like VERY scary and dangerous experiences and I hope you are both feeling better, Bluejeanz and Markus.
I'm sure you know this but I didn't...that "Lite Salt" you can buy is a mixture of salt and potassium chloride so you seriously do NOT want that. I don't know why they even sell it!
I had the opposite problem, I had too little potassium and it's apparently not that easy to get naturally or even via supplements because they kept me in the hospital until they got it back up.
Did either of your docs suggest how many mg. of potassium you should eat per day? If you google "low potassium diet" there is a lot of info out there, but I wouldn't start until I knew what was going on/how much K i should be getting.
Keep us posted, obviously this is very important!

So much for that being a healthy option.
Ive also looked up food high in potassium, bananas and potaoes top the list...
ever good old broccli has it in so you have to boil it to death to leach out the potassium.
Im now having weekly blood tests,to check this and my doctor sain that once the acidosis has cleared that potassium regulates itself as a rule.
Its the most weirdest sensation when the potassium is high,as I felt my mind had been taken over by aliens, and began to have hallucinatons.
It also gave me paralysis of the muscles plus odema which is water retention.
Try not to think the worst here....
Glad your ok Markus!! That was scarey...
