I am just guessing but I say no, Hay Fever is not caused by a virus. Some of the medications you take for it might...if you have it talk to your Doctor about it.

I thought it was a cold when I woke up all plugged up. And felt kind of sick. But my eyes were puffy and bright red. I am feeling better now and my blood sugar is coming down. So most likely it was a cold, though the air is almost cloudy with pollen from all the spring time blooming.

probably reaction to the meds more so...but sometimes I swear the air I breathe affects me lol

I was told by a healthcare provider that diabetics have an increase of ...fluids like phlem and mucus. So although I do not belive that diabetes causes hay fever, I do belive it makes it harder to manage because of the increase production of mucus..not to mention harder to control and get rid of them.
Then you get into the whole discussion of getting wore down and tired and this can cause bs to rise.
Like others have mentioned please speak to your health care provider.

Thank you all for your replies. It seems it was a cold as I am now feeling better and my numbers are back where they usually are. I wrote a long reply about somethings related to glyburide and high fat meals and how fat may cause a problem with the glyburide being absorbed when taken with a high fat meal. But when I went to retrieve this link I lost the post. Oh Well

A lot of things would affect blood sugar level, But hay fever won't affect it directly, may it's hormonal related. And high blood sugar can lower hay fever. Sometimes it's the medications you take.
