Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
I have the book as well as an Audio called "Secrets To Normal Blood Sugars.
On the CD's he talks about foot problems he treats, and how when they "FILE" your foot or "CUT" your nails, Foot doctors sometimes cause SMALL problems that lead into very LARGE problems and he advises that we NOT let them FILE or CUT.
If you have a good library, you may be able to get the Audio Book or have them order it for you. There is a type 1 and type 2 version. I bought mine and it is a bit 'expensive', but after listening to it I feel it was worth it.
A follower of Dr. Bernstein, Jenny Kuhl has a website and book "Blood Sugar 101", with a lot of the same info. Her book is a bit less expensive.
Let me know if their info helps you. Best of luck with your care.
That means the cells can't heal and start to die off.
You stated that you heal better when your sugars are 180 then 400.
That is exactly why he is asking you what your sugars are.
And in any case, they will probably find out these things anyway, they can just make a phone call to their colleagues in the other department. I asked about this actually, why they ask me what my HBA1C is when I see the eye specialist, and was told they were 'testing' me - they said people who remember their HBA1C are more in control of their diabetes. I think that is sneaky and not necessarily true - maybe people just have a bad memory, we have so many numbers to remember. Why can't they just come out and ask us how our control is, if we are struggling or need any help? I guess that's doctors for you. They are probably well aware you are struggling but want to see if you are trying or something like that, so no point in trying to hide it or not telling them things.
If there is a doctor nearer your home that you can see, why not ask about it? Can't hurt right?
I can understand that you think it's not any of their business, but as long as your are seeing them, they are going to ask. I agree with Mzizgayle, it can turn very bad very quickly for a diabetic.
Not trying to anger you, just giving my opinion.
