First, let me apologize in advance as I might ramble a bit in this post.
I have been referred to a retinal specialist, but don't see him until late October.
The common sense part of me is telling me not to 'go borrowing trouble' and try not to worry until the specialist tells me to worry, but as I read information I can't help but feel a sense of nervousness, even panic.
My eye doctor has told me that I have developed diabetic retinopathy (macular edema), which he is not comfortable following so I am glad that he is erring on the side of caution and is sending me to a specialist.
I wish I didn't have to wait so long for the appointment. *sigh*

It sounds like I have focal macular edema as my eye doctor told me that I am leaking fluid. It is interesting that the term "microaneurysm" is used in relation to this condition in the link grannie shared. Interesting because I am on a lifetime anticoagulant due to having two types of blood disorders, which if I didn't take leave me at high risk for blood clots. It makes me wonder if this, in addition to being diabetic, could be connected.
