Diabetes Type 2 Support Group
Type 2 Diabetes is a condition in which the body either does not produce enough insulin or does not make efficient use of it. Insulin is a hormone needed to convert food into glucose, a sugar that the body uses for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose can accumulate in the blood, and can cause serious health problems such as heart disease and strokes and organ damage...
And weight is dropping off.
Of course I am also eating healthy foods, taking metformin and exercising.
But, the endocrinologists said "take as much as you want ... within reason" -- whatever that means!
Despite the fact that I bought the 100mgs, next time I will buy the 600.
I am also taking the Metanx that was prescribed to me by the podiatrist, to prevent neuropathy - no side effects from it and my insurance did cover it - just had a copay of 15.00. I guess it runs $69.00 without insurance. So, I am not sure if you asked your doctor about it yet. The pharmacist did say Metanx was mainly B-6 - which metformin has a way of stripping from the body. Still confused to why it requires a prescription.
Thanks for your help and I am glad to hear you are doing so great!
l ran out of ALA & that's prolly why my BS #s are up
God Bless
Also, ALA helps convert glucose to energy, maybe this effect might cause fluctuations in blood sugar
God Bless
