This really sucks.I went on a cruise to the dominican Republic and was bite by a spider.The spider bite turned to Mrsa I was put on 4 weeks of Iv therapy and now my sugars are wacked out.I have never been so thirsty in all my life.My doctors have changed my medicines and now I am exhausted.My other lab work is doing good my kidneys are ok.How long does it take to get back to my normal A!C which runs 6.5 -7.

Wow I have heard that MRSA resembles a spider bite, but I never heard of a spider giving it to you. Or do you mean you got bit by a spider and MRSA set in, that I have heard of.

Anyhow, sorry, that is terrible. Did the Doc put you on insulin to get your numbers down? MRSA is hard to get rid of so work close with your Doctor to get well. Again, I am so sorry.

I was told that the spiders carry it and the bite was from a fiddler spider that causes ulcers in the skin.I am not sure but I hope the little bugger died.I never saw him but I sure felt the bite and I was in a one piece swimming suit so I could not get at it right away.So please everyone shake out your towels and check your beach chairs prior to sitting down.

I knew of 2 people that have had MRSA, one was a nurse, the other an accountant, they caught it from other people. I found an article you may be interested in, seems like once you get it can come back, it must weaken your immune system.

My Mother had MRSA. I am sure she got it at the hospital and they did not tell me at first. Do be careful.

sending you hugs dear....do hope you get better. until you completely come off the meds they put you on and the mrsa is gone, your numbers will probably be out of wack for a bit, but the good news is to stay on your diet, exercise if you can and they should get back into control before you know it.

Thanks for the article and the advice.I am trying so hard to be positive just feeling overwelmed at present and My Doc wants me to see endocrinologist.

I am a little confused and you might want to help me out. It takes 3-4 months for new red blood cells to be generated.
But , did the IV therapy do that. Was it full of sugar.
That AIC is very serious.
Get back on track with low carbs and exercise but AIC will not change over night.

It takes 3 - 4 for a total change over of red blood cells, but new ones are being generated all the time as old ones are trashed. so there should be gradual improvement. Don't worry too much cuz that can raise it. You were very sick, and your whole body is repairing now. Sugar is needed to do the repairs so your body is putting more out. An endocrinologist is a specialist in diabetes and the whole system that regulates sugar, so is good idea to go.

The IIV medicine was cubicin and it is said to raise blood sugars but more gentle on kidneys
