Four months ago i had to go through a major surgery due to a disease that attacked my pancreas. In the process of the surgery they had to rwmove more than a third of it. What was left behind, i was told, was pretty beat up and scarred. I have been in treatment for this problem about 5 months now. Sometimes my blood sugar controls and sometimes it does not. This last week my pancreas has decided not to make insuline. I woke up this morning with a fasting glucose level of 145. After i ate it shot up to 456. aftermost of the day went by i tested again and it was at 319. I hate to use my insulin (Levemir) becuase i tend to crash after using it. So i spend my time to high then take insuline and go to low. up down up down. Any one here have any tips for a newbie?
