Low blood sugar

my father has had diabetes for the past 22 years and throughout the years it has made his health worse. His vision, kidneys, feet, etc. it breaks my heart to see him being so sick. For about a month his blood sugars have dropped way too often. It's becoming too regular. Sometimes it's so low to the point where he starts having seizures, other times he loses consciousness and starts talking nonsense. Typically at night before bed when he checks his blood sugar it can be super high and throughout the night it's when it drops extremely low..I'm wondering if anyone else went through this or is going through this? How have you improved this situation? Any help would be very much appreciated, thank you.

I do have low blood sugars during the night sometimes. Is he taking too much insulin before he is going to bed? I eat some protein, like low carb yoghurt. He should be brought to the hospital fast when that happens. They should re-evaluate all his medicine and do a test to see what is going on with the pancreas and liver. Hugs

there is something that can happen with diabetics that cause that very to very low cycle. i don't know if it is the case with your dad or not but i thought i would throw into the conversation. it is called the Samoygi reaction. basically he should be getting help from his doc or a diabetes nurse the figure out what to do. i'm sure there is away to get a handle on this problem. i've had type 1 for 50 yrs now and i can identify with everyone who posts here. best to you all.

    I had gone to the grocery store.  When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute.  A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked.  I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds.  But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026.  I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away.  It was an ordinary middle age...
