High blood sugar and ketones

Ok to I'm on a pump and the catheter came out when I was sleeping.  Now I have high blood sugar (333) and large ketones. I'm not feeling sick so I'm not heading to the ER unless I start vomiting or have abdominal pain. Obviously it has come on because I wasn't getting any insulin from my pump. I am getting a cold also.


I've had this disease for 42 year and I'm 47. I haven't had ketones in years and was trying to remember what to do, besides call my MD or go to the ER.

Actually, I don't know if that will help you at all if you're on a pump... my partner injects his insulin... sorry! :(

I inject insulin too. Hope all goes well. Do you not have some injectable insulin in case something like this happens.

Hi all, thank you for your replies. I did have injectable insulin which I used and ketones where back to normal by the next morning. Unfortunately I had another incident with ketones again yesterday with, this time, no apparent obvious reason. Redo on everything (insulin, site, reservoir on pump, etc) and ketones back to normal in about 4 hours. Geesh this hasnt happened in years and now twice in a month... oh unlucky me I guess.

    I had gone to the grocery store.  When I wheeled my cartback to my car I just stool there a minute.  A few spacesaway a Tesla Cyber truck was parked.  I had seen it on theroad a few times for a few seconds.  But not close up.It looked like it belonged to 2126 and not 2026.  I wasgoing to take a picture of the car but the owners cameback and drove away.  It was an ordinary middle age...
