Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
200mg I started on =( - now im off it =)
I found it made me extremely tired too so don't be worried! I was taking 100mg in the morning and 100 mg at night... if you find its making you tired ask your GP if it's fine to take it at night.. I don't see the problem (as I had to take it at night as well) - but better be sure =)
Goodluck! hope all goes well =)
Thanks again
Since I was having two dosages 1 in the morning and 1 at night I couldnt really switch.
When my dosages were finally lowered I took them at night.
Since you're so tired it might help you sleep more?
Eventually though your body does adjust.
What did you doctor say about taking it at night?
The tiredness stayed with me I think a good part of a month the more use to the medication I got the better it was.
I assume they'll weine you off it - They had ALOT of trouble keeping me on my medication ALOT I hated it (not that it will happen to you) - They however wouldnt listen to the fact it was effecting my schooling I couldnt retain information, I felt numb to the world I didnt care if something happened to anyone NO emotions and that really troubled me I felt like a bit of a emotionless zombie!
But that was me, hopefully it'll do wonders for you and soon you can come off it =)
When I did come off it I had alot of dizzy spells and nausiating (this will happen if you come off to too quickly like i commonly did).. I also had erratic mood changes up and down.
I advise you come off it slowly.. I think they'll either cut it down 5mg a time or something or make you start taking it every second day etc.
The side effects though didnt last long.. Once it was out of my system I was fine =)
It's really important though once you get off them to recongise any warning signs and go straight back to your GP or whomever you see.
I've done it and I regularly see a psychologist now however refuse medications anymore! Im monitored because they though/think I have bipolar tendencies now but unless I want to go onto medication they can't force me.
I find alot of help though in talking to someone and slowly working it out.
Stay positive! =)
Also, walking is a really good think to help with depression! I recommend you keep it up, if its helping with your sleeping patterns VERY VERY good! it puts oxygen through your blood, giving you energy =) Im glad its helping for you =)
If you have anymore questions, dont hesitate to ask me =) msg me or what not its perfectly fine.
Goodluck!
Unfortunately, I am experiencing all of the things you did on the Zoloft. I am like a zombie and I hate it. I too am finishing up my first degree (I am a returning student - 44 yrs old) and it is seriously messing with my studying and absorbing information. I have decided to go off of the Zoloft. I don't see the extreme exhaustion wearing off and it is affecting my family. My Psychologist is a big pill pusher and I think I have to find someone different. He takes meds himself so he is definitely a believer in them. Ironically, this is my last semester at school, so a horrible time for this to happen. Thank you so much for all the advice. I plan to keep walking and hope that since I have only been on the Zoloft for one week, the withdrawal won't be too bad. I cut down to 25mg from 50mg. My doc is horrible with returning calls, so I hope I am weaning off correctly. Thanks again.
