As if I wasn't under enough fucking stress what with just finishing my midterms and starting into my massive final assignments, using up all my weekends with conferences and work, and preparing for graduation....
- My credit card number gets stolen and I have to wait for my new one to come in the mail (I am a student... credit is all I friggin have)
- Some woman smashes my car while it is parked outside my house mangling the bumper, smashing the headlight, scratching the fender, and popping my tire so that the car is unusable until it is fixed...
- her insurance won't cover the whole cost of putting a new tire on because it is an "upgrade" and puts me ahead of where I was when the incident occurred. So I ask them to please hunt down a tire that is the exact same value as the one that was on there in order that I don't have to pay for a new tire since I have no money and can't afford to. They tell me I will have to do that, otherwise SOL, basically..
- I cannot get an appointment to have repairs done until freaking December with any of her insurance company's preferred shops (which are the only ones they will cover repairs from)
- Her insurance will cover a rental car for me until I can get my car back on the road, but they will not cover any insurance costs associated with the rental - which are going to cost me $7 a day!
Oh and.... the only thing that had been getting me through this week was that I was going to get to go snowboarding today.... but I don't now, because only 1 run is open and it's a half-covered green run........ so I don't even have my freaking outlet that I clearly need right now.
I'm fucking livid. I can't take anymore. I am definitely, without a doubt, LOSING IT!

How did your credit card # get stolen? I mean, you probably don't know for sure, right? lol....but I was reading something the other day on yahoo news and I guess people that take your card out of your sight could very well be getting the number/taking cell pic of it. I always take mine into a place and watch, I also will not use any of the automated ones at like gas pumps and stuff...too risky. I hope your account wasn't compromised of any monies!
As far as your car...that REALLY sucks...will your insurance cover the rental? Years ago, when I had full coverage insurance on my car, it also extended to rentals/etc.

I don't know what condition your car was in before this accident, but you deserve to have it back in the same workable condition.

I had a 7 passenger minivan that got rear-ended, smashed.
The woman who did it, her insurance company wanted to total my van out.......NO!!...FIX IT!!!
Be glad I'm not claiming injury, because I'm hurt, and have not seen a doctor...

They rentent me a sedan....nice car, but, ahem...I can't carry my family in it, and I'm going out out town. I want at LEAST a 7 passenger van. They gave me one.
They did fix my van, and gave me a rental that I put 2000 miles on.
But because I don't have collision on my policy and because I am under the age of 25, I have to - in order to be able to rent a car I have to purchase collision which will cost me $7 a day. Her insurance will not cover that cost. Nor will mine, because I don't have collision.
SOOOO... all in all, tire + collision will cost me abouuut $300 or so.
Now, please do tell me... what student who lives on their own and supports their own education has a spare $300 just lying around just in case someone hits their car when they are not anywhere near it???

Also, you should check to see if they'll simply see you a check for the estimated cost of repairs.
