Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
As with many things in my life, I ignore them until they go away. Currently, I have an abscess on my hip. It started this past weekend as a small bump, eventually reaching 4 inches lengthwise. Most people would have gone to the doctor or clinic. Well, I don't have much money. So, I ignored it for most of the days. When I laid on that side, I put my TV remote there to put pressure on it. It worked and reduced to it half size. It leaked pus eventually on its own, away from the abscess site 90% of the time. I used toilet paper to absorb it and the occasional blood until I was able to buy band-aids from the 99 cent store. It only hurts when I touch it directly, other than that I can move around painlessly. It's now about 10% of what it was. Most likely course is that it will hurt for a few more days, scab over, heal and be completely forgotten by me. If only the rest of my problems would be the same. If only I could treat my dysthymia the same way and be healed.

You shouldn't burst an abscess yourself and mess with it. If you push and play with it you just push the infection further into the body and can cause further problems.
I had an abscess once many years ago and I had to have it surgically lanced.
Just be careful. Money or not. Health is more important and if things don't look better I would seek medical treatment soon.
I know you wish the depression was easy to treat and heal. I have no answers for that one. I have my own stuff I'm dealing with.
An abcess is an infection, puss filled sac.
Cyst is not and can be no problem other than be an annoying lump.
However A cyst can change and turn into an abcess.
Puss filled abcess should not be burst and messed with. Can cause problems.
