Hopefully it won't take years and years to find another job although it may feel like it's taking that long. Have you thought about going back to school? Do you know what kind of work you're interested in? I'm glad you're at least feeling better and are staying off the cigarettes. That is huge!

job hunting is such a suck thing to need to do....I got fortunate and started a successful little self employment business....so I get to no longer search...however my AA sponsor wants me to get off of SSDI and go back to working....I have looked a little bit but man I am so entrenched in no longer working for someone else.....I will continue to look for $50K year jobs and nothing less....but then I could get hired get off SSDI and get fired...and that would suck even worse....just saying

Yeah, bill, it really boils down to the ca$h. All employers are going to make you suffer, in one way or another, so you look for the best $$ deal you can find, and then, who knows, you might find a job that possesses a skillset that really fits your personality and aptitudes, so any bullshit the employer puts you through just slides off your shoulders cuz you're enjoying the work so much.

thanks for the encouragement, there is one place I think I really want to work, and I just keep hoping they will call, but they may not, because I usually don't get that lucky. But I'm trying to hold it together in the mean time, and things are a little better now, now that I'm getting over being lied on by a supervisor, I have to get over it, right? there's nothing more I can do.

It can take 3-6 months to find a new job. And you have to do more than hit the send button. Network online on linkedin. Go to networking events on meetup and anywhere else locally. Approach every family member, friend and acquaintance you can and tell them you are job hunting and what you are looking for. Call old coworkers who are at new jobs and see if there are openings. The exclusive use of online job boards is inefficient. They've even done studies to prove it. Can you go to a temp agency while you wait it out and find customer service or clerical work in the interim?
