Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
The thing is, I get that he is concerned for the dogs well being. The ironic thing is that when he calls my husband saying he wants the dog back, it prevents me from being able to walk him around the neighborhood so in reality, he is harming the dog with his harassment. Now, I can only walk Zappa along with my husband and until then, I can only take him out front. Which is sad because everyone knows border collies are balls of energy who need to play and run around.

To have loved and then said farewell, is better than to have never loved at all.
For all of the times that you have stooped and touched my head, fed me my favorite treat and returned the love that I so unconditionally gave to you.
For the care that you gave to me so unselfishly.
For all of these things I am grateful and thankful.
I ask that you not grieve for the loss, but rejoice in the fact that we lived, loved and touched each others lives. My life was fuller because you were there, not as a master/owner, but as my FRIEND.
Today I am as I was in my youth. The grass is always green, butterflies flit among the flowers and the Sun shines gently down upon all of God's creatures.
I can run, jump, play and do all of the things that I did in my youth. There is no sickness, no aching joints and no regrets and no aging.
We await the arrival of our lifelong companions and know that togetherness is forever.
You live in our hearts as we do in yours. Companions such as you are so rare and unique.
Don't hold the love that you have within yourself. Give it to another like me and then I will live forever. For love never really dies, and you are loved and missed as surely as we are.

Prayer for the Protection of Animals
O God, source of life and power, Who feedeth the birds of the heavens, increase our tenderness towards all the creatures of Thy hand. Help us to refrain from petty acts of cruelty, or thoughtless deeds of harm to any living animal. May we care for them at all times, especially during hard weather, and protect them from injury so that they learn to trust us as friends. Let our sympathy grow with knowledge, so that the whole creation may rejoice in Thy presence.

Yes, I'd say definitely wait till your husband gets home, ask him if he wants to write something first and if not, then you go ahead and put up the memorial on your page.
I hope you don't have a superbug! Lots of water and rest!
If you have to get rid of Zappa for Felix's well-being, maybe you could give him back to the guy who wants him. Better that than giving him up to a shelter where he might be put to sleep.
You could also tell this guy that you are seeing how Zappa adjusts to his new home, and if it doesn't work out, you'll give him back, but otherwise, he needs to stop calling and texting. Tell him flat out that you want to feel comfortable taking Zappa for a walk without being confronted by him. I would do that before getting a restraining order. Try to resolve it amicably.
The guy who is bothering you about Zappa, sounds like he regrets parting with his dog and is missing him a lot. He sounds like he has bad anxiety, regret and guilt over it.
The guy obviously wants to make sure the dog is well, which means he cares. That is one way to look at it but he ought not be harassing you or husband and adding stress to your lives. I think if you consider he just has anxiety and he is not nuts you maybe able to talk with him to reassure him that Zappa is in good care.
And if it is not working out because it is causing Felix stress then I agree with the suggestion of returning the dog.
Was there any written agreement or receipt of any kind when you got the dog from this guy or was it all verbal? did you pay any money?
What was the reason why the guy parted with Zappa and you have the dog?
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

The thing is Oscar was soooooo rare and one of a kind. He was so ridiculously smart he was both dog and human like. He was the most gorgeous semi-longhaired manx whom I believe was also turkish angora, though he was a rescue so you could never tell. Had the most golden eyes and would just wrap his paws around your arm and hug it and not let go. Always gave a grumpy "mrmp" sound every time you stopped petting him. Also was the only cat I knew that not only loved a tummy rub, but would put his back leg over your arm for you to rub him. Damn I will miss him.
Now Felix is scaring me. He is very anxious about the dog and won't get down from his table. He was just hyperventilating with his mouth open, which I have never seen before.
As for the guy, he knows we live in the neighborhood and we told him flat out we would let him see and play with him down in the dog park and when I take him for walks, but thart sure isn't happening if he is threatening to take the dog back. We plan on getting him a microchip and getting him registered soon.
