I've been really depressed lately. I'm starting to see that my job, tho easy, is probably not going to get me anywhere. One of my coworkers is leaving at the end of the month. I was hoping to be considered for his replacement, but they are likely hiring someone from outside.


Which is really fine since I'm not ready to take the job. It just sucks that I won't get any training for future. I just realized today that I probably won't ever be considered for a position like that because people with that job aren't allowed to have clients that are related to them. I'm related to all but a scant handful of people here.


I'm always depressed about not having money, and where I live. There are only so many hours in a day that I can work. I really miss school but that takes money too. I wish I could go back to school for free then get a good high paying job.


Yesterday was my family reunion. I didn't go to my highschool reunion. I'm always overly concerned with where I should be in life, like I have to prove something to other people. I feel like people look down on me instead of up to me. I don't want my family and peers to talk bad about me because I'm not where they think I should be in life. I always feel pressure not to fail.


I was on vacation last week week and it was like I was a different person. I didn't have to worry about anything. Now I'm back and it's like I just hit a wall of...I don't know what.

I completely understand how you feel. I've kind of going through the same things in my life as well.

I don't know where you are from but many states are starting to offer free community college or at the very least technical certification. I've been thinking of going back for one. My job doesn't offer any advancement or on the job skills training.

Would transferring to another location (another state) be an option with the company you work for?

I don't think allot of us are where we thought we would be this far in life. It's about making the most of what you have and being proud that your making it. I have an MBA and had it for 4 years before it landed me my dream job. My forever job. But i screwed up and now i don't have that job anymore and could be facing potential incarceration and am working temp jobs to support my family until its decided wether i go or not. I am only miserable for what it had done to my family who are innocent in the whole thing. I might not be in there most ideal of situations but I'm making the most of what i got so i can hold my head high no matter what happens. It didn't matter if you work fast food or a corporate job. If you are doing your best and getting paid, you are a success

First of all, please excuse my language, but fuck what everyone else thinks. They aren’t you, and you aren’t them. Live your life the way you want to, as long as it’s what’s healthiest for you mentally. Trust me, materialistic people who judge success by your bank account are truly miserable. Most of them will be in debt for eternity because they feel the need to uphold a certain image. I’ve been on both sides of the fence, and after years of self-discovery, I’d love to live a minimalist lifestyle today. My advice is to try to do something you half-way enjoy, even if the pay isn’t the best. Do simple things that bring you pleasure.

Sounds like it might be time to move. Fresh starts. The best time to find a new job is while you still have the other one. Getting away from family is many times good and freeing. You do have to act together tho, even when you don't feel like you got it together inside. Fake it till you make it. Speak confidently even when you don't feel it and the feelings will follow and you will find others respect you more too. Everyone had doubts inside, even the most confident person you know, they just keep it inside and act as they feel they need to be at work and it helps them as it will you too. =) some things that help are B Complex Vitamin in the mornings, it increases concentration and energy. Magnesium malate at night to rest your mind, heart and soul. It is very beneficial! Ginseng gets rid of sticky negative thoughts that loop so it helps a lot too. Get outside, feel the earth, we do get out of touch and grounding does help. =) Hang in there, you've got this, change is good and keeps us from a rut. Best to you!
