Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
seriously though.....I think I would be more comfortable around people who can openly admit to having problems. It would be way easier for me to talk to others who know what depression is rather than just having an idea.
I tried a couple group sessions for my depression before and they were good and bad. The good part way the talk among the "patients". There was this guy in there that made me laugh sooo hard with his off the wall jokes. It felt so good to just laugh and laugh and not be able to stop. It was the first time I had that happen for a long long time. The bad was the staff interaction which seemed really stupid sometimes with the exercises they came up with. Some of them read from text books, some lectured and others set up team building projects that made me feel like I was in kindergarten.
