Doesn't that just irritate ya? I spent from Feb til May in the hospital, and encountered the same type of thing..it's like you bruise their precious blood drawing ego if you try to help by telling them where your veins are...geesh!
As someone who ended up needing 4 pints of blood during my hospital stay, I wanna say thanks to you, and everyone else who cares enough to donate their blood!!! Have a great weekend!

I don't donate no more because of that .. about 5 mths I went and long story short they missed my vein and the supervisor came over and was moving the needle inside my arm all over the place to see if she can find it again (my veins are small too ) and then bam I jumped up cause she hit a nerve she told me .. for the rest of the day / night and next day I had a huge bruise on my arm and where she stuck me .. up to my muscle and across was numb .. my hubby told me no more donating unless it's in the hospital with professionals .. be careful with them they don't have licenses to do it yet ..they are using u as practice ..

I had the same thing happen to me. It was painful though. Three times they tried and I started squirting blood all over the place. I was mortified. And on top of that, they told me to stop being such a baby. They didn't listen, insulting me for crying because it hurt and was gross, and now I am too afraid to give blood again. :(

I dunno...I guess I donate at the right bloodmobile. My veins are small too, but they tell me to TELL them if it hurts, and they stop instantly. Most of the time, they find the vein no problem.

I'd stop donating too if that happened to me. They're idiots; it's tough enough to get people to donate without having that kind of attitude.

That really sucks........I wouldnt let them try anywhere else but where I tell them, as you say....we know our own bodies better than them!

i tell them right out if u don't know what ur doing dont fucken touch me those are mostly the intern blood takers

alot of people dont listen cause they think they know it all.besides they went to school for what they know and studied on the subject.so they think they know more than what you do of your on self..we are not trained to know ourselves as much as a book trained person that took classes and stuff .lol..your right brain they are jerks!

Don't go back and tell them why, things will change fast!
