Who "Pre-Cleans" for the cleaning people?

My MIL moved in with us about 5 years ago.  She likes a cleaner house than we keep, so we agreed to have a cleaning crew come in once a week to clean the house.  I like it, great service.



But I notice that my wife and her mom will clean things up BEFORE the cleaning people get here.  I think that it the cleaning people's job.



Is this a guy thing?  Do some, most, all women pre-clean before a cleaning crew comes in?

I am told there's a difference between tidying and cleaning, and tidying is what you do before the cleaner comes :)

If you tidy up and do some of the easier duties, this leaves more time for the crew you are paying to do the more inconvenient duties. Like if I remove the DVD cartons from the cabinet upon which the flat screen is resting, they can get into the nooks and crannies with their dust rags and such.

If you want a good job done, make it easy. Do you want them folding your clothes or scrubbing the toilet? How will they vacuum if you have junk on the floor? If your shelves are covered in stuff, will they dust or will they walk on by?

You leave it tidy because you want them to know they have to do a good job, and that you're watching, and that you care. and that you will SEE if they cut corners.

I agree with pinkpaint....its a tyding up thing before the cleaners do their bit, then the place is perfect!

    DS, I just have to say that if I did not love my friends here on DS I would be gone in a heart beat!  I am at my wits end of losing posts!  It seems like the Gateway thing seems to be a you problem.  How can we fix it?  I always make sure that I am online and signed in before I hit send.Welcoming any suggestions other than the ones that I recieved before.
