Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I knew he was reaching, and knew it. Despite those lines, I knew he regretted it, and it didn't have any weight on me. Also because I hadn't been drama queening at all.
Maybe I've worried too much about what others say? And what's so wrong with needing attention? I know the answers are in my head. To this one... I say, we can't worry about what others say or think. Period. We know what's in our minds and hearts, and even if we don't, we, for sure, don't need to believe what other people say about us.
Teenies at school are always banging on about wanting to die. It's a shame really, because they all do it so automatically (just go read tumblr for three minutes) that people who have genuine problems get overlooked - and what's more, certainly some of those teenies talk themselves into a kind of negativity that can lead to social failure, that can certainly eventually lead to depression.
So it's kind of wrecking things both ways.
The right person to talk to about depression is the school guidance counsellor, and i certainly would not waste my breath on anyone else. Everyone else: plaster that smile on. Grit your teeth, and have fun.
