Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
I've always leaned to the old saying "home is where your heart is". Not where you're "feelings" are, but where your "heart" is. This is truly your comfort place, your safe place. This is the longing we yearn for inside. This is "home".
I know you'll keep at it until you conclude where that is. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that you discover that "place" is within you. You'll find it. I just know you will. Objects won't give you that "home"; and neither with materialism. These are very nice to have, and so is the ability to have bills paid and purchase what you want. But these won't make you a "home".
Good Luck, and Best Wishes!!!

I don't think it's something that can be fixed with a pill.
You have gone through many changes. And really August is still new to me. it took me months and months to get use to where i live now.
Are you still with the boyfriend? Or is that an ended relationship? Sorry if I misunderstand.
you are adapting to the new transitions and also that your kids are almost grown and will be heading out themselves. That could have something to do with it.
We usually equate home with kids and when they grow up and leave it all changes. Maybe you are anticipating that. Empty nest syndrome early, though your teens haven't gone yet.
This could be a new era for you to discover new things and finding yourself so to speak.
Home is what you make it I think. It is something that comes from within I'm sure. It's not necessarily a location but it can be. I feel more at home where I live now than when I lived out West but my roots are not here in this land and i have had to accept and adapt and make this my home.
Maybe your roots is location related or it could be people or culture related.
I think home can mean different things to different people. Home can be as long as you are with people you love.
What about relationship?
I find that when I'm with my husband it's home. We could live in a shack and I think I would be fine as long as he's around.
and my doggy. Lol
Maybe home is wherever LOVE is. I don't know, I'm just rattling on. Lol
I hope your visit with the doc is helpful. I hope they don't say oh it's your age or give you some flip answer and offer you drugs.
You probably just need a listening ear and some guidance. Good luck.
Home is where the heart is. It's where you feel warm. Give yourself some time every day to relax and enjoy your successes. Pour yourself a glass of wine. Make yourself a bubble bath. Throw in a movie that makes you laugh.
