Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
good luck.
Good luck
I take 400 MG of the generic. Sometimes you need a higher dose if you are taking the generic. Are you taking this with a low dose antidepressant as well? I take 30mg of Cymbalta. Usually you need antidepressant too but lower dose than if you werent taking Lamictal.
Hope this helps give you some hope. I wouldnt give up on it yet. I know how terribly painful the waiting can be. Hopefully someday they will have drugs or treatments that work faster.
True some people get help on them but at what price? Your hair falls out, your liver fails or you develop dementia or tardive dyskinesia?
Personally, if I could use I time machine I would go back in time and never have taken a med in the last seven years, I'd still be okay today instead of trying to find effective methods to off myself.
Look into a supplement called SAMe, it makes pharma drugs look like the joke they are. Check out even reviews on here...very highly rated and in Europe it's prozac to some of them.
Make sure it doesn't clash with your meds though and I mean make sure, check online and with the pharmacy don't trust your Dr on this...they are almost clueless when it comes to interactions.
Lots of people have a problem with methylation and none of this serotonin shortage bunk...that's a broken theory designed to sell more drugs. Trust me on this....there are no meds tested beyond six months do if you are on them any longer than that you might be putting your health at risk. And I've read enough to know what I'm talking about here but I'm also not saying to just stop meds either. It's just the aren't nearly as safe or innocent as a drug company says. ...ever.
Oh, another thing. GSK makes Lamictal and they were just fined 3 billion dollars for lying and witholding negative clinical results...they are one of the most corrupt companies on the face of this earth. Please consider this when you feel feverish, flu like symptoms, hair loss or sudden deafness, never mind Steven Johnson syndrome. Again, not trying to scare anyone because this can be an effective drug for many many people but it's not like taking vitamin c or anything like that.
Still, have seen some miraculous results with it nontheless so it definitely works like magic for the ones that benefit. I still think the CEO for GSK should be publicly hung though.
Peace
Now I must say I also take Luvox (Fluvoxamine) and Risperidone for anxiety, obsessive thoughts, etc.
