Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

Have you thought about family therapy?
You need some support, do you have other family you can talk to?
I think you need to write to each of your daughters telling them exactly how you feel and ask for their response.
Perhaps if you can give us some more background, those who have similar experiences can offer some support!

i can sympathize, when you don't seethem, they are not there to call you names or tell you what a bad mother you are, or how you ruined their lives. and then expect top treatment from you, although they constantly berate you. mine make me feel less than human
i've had to fight back, although i was close to giving up, just letting their father have them until they came around. but then there's a chance you may lose them.
if you want, read my journals, i think you'll see how similiar our situations are. hang in there sweetie. it's really hard, but just know in your heart that you're a good mom and that they are just mean at this age.
i reached a poiont where i was physically attacking them, becuase they infuritated me so, i threw someting at my daughter. but, then they have ammunition that i was a lousy mom, it's really hard.
i had to work on myu own reactions. i still do, i get a pit in my stomach when i have to pick them up. i prepare for the worst and sometimes it's not bad, others , worse than i expceted! take care Kim. write back if you want, ok? i'm here for you as a fellow-mom.
it is really hard to deal with. there is no easy answer, but you have the strength to deal with it. you have to kind to yourself, cause if you feel depressed it's even worse.
i feel for you, i really do. it's true that there are terrible 2's, but if you have a non-nuclear family it adds to the stress, so you already have a strike against you.
the rejection hurts so bad, the good thing that you have though, is that the kids are always with you. with mine, they have the option ofgoing to t heir fathers. you should, work on having your own friends and interests. you need to do this to keep strong, because otherwise you're at the full mercy of them. and the truth is, they want to make you feel like shit.
mine do, and have succeeded, i'm getting stronger everyday though, even if i backslide, i can't let myself feel like that.
it's like, bam! all at once , they turn on you. back stabbers.
Notice I said "were"......
They are adult children now & nice most of the time.

My first husband and the father of my two children died while they were young, he also died from alcohlism at 39. My daughter was 15 and my son was 12. The pain thats my children and the reality that I could not make thier pain go away like a mother should be able too. The hurt that they are feeling is being directed onto you even if thye have no clue they are doing it. My daughter went through a tough time But through love and the school helping me with counsoling she has turned into a fine young lady. ... My son is 20 and he went to opposite .... I was so wrapped up in trying to make THEM happy that I let him do things that he should never have gotten away with .... I didnt want to upset the apple cart so to speak... he never did counseling he flat out refused .. and to this day I have struggled with him to get on some kind of positive path to no avial.... I wouls suggest family counseling for you all....Becuase in a situation like this getting one person to see the light is not enough if the other two are still in the dark
My prayers to you
2.Their rooms are their space it needs to be respected.
3.Dinner time is the same time every night you will be there
4.No snacking meal time is just that.
5.Attitude will not be tollerated at the table you will be asked to leave
6.Dont like rule 5 refer to rule 4
7. This is your house which equals your rules
7.The door swings one way once out you are out.
These are basics...if anyone wishes to add feel free.
Expect some resistance but a hungry stomach is a great persuader and motivational tool.
All I can add is that my daughter was simply horrible from 11-17. She really *did* hate me at times. She is 19 now and we are surprisingly good friends -- most of the time. There really is hope.
That is their job. My job is to be me. I love them, and if they want to love me, here i am. But I love myself too much to grieve over someone else's wrong headedness.
Honor to Brave Kim. No way I cannot support you in this. Pain has no gender, you see. I have felt this pain, and survived it. you will too. Keep coming back.
