Ive always been a believer in choosing happiness. If you wake up in the morning sad, just decided to be happy instead and the rest of the day will go okay. But im starting to realize, maybe if youre not truly happy, just trying to convince yourself wont always work, eveentually the darkness catches up with you. And then your just left wondering if i have no passion, no hobbies, and all i know how to do/have motivation to do is watch tv. Am i really living? Should i really be? Is it even worth it? Like yeah i can live and keep telling myself to be happy and telling myself that one day light will come into my life, something good will happen to me. But if im just going through the motions only to recieve negative shit in my life. Whats the point? I like to think im a logical person and i dont know this just seems to make sense to me; if im not living the way i want, and its just too hard and seemingly impossible, why live. Ya know.
OK. See if you can handle this. You were given a life ... depending on what you want to believe, it came either from your parents, adopted parents, Grandma or God (depending on what applies to you). Between those perspectives, at least one of the parties' intention was for you to have a good life.
A good life contains among other things, happiness.
I have had mostly an unhappy life because I thought it came from winning the lottery, inheriting wealth, being famous, enjoying a bevy of beautiful women, having cool cars ... all kinds of things that would come TO me from 'outside'. I attained some of those things (and other things) ... none of which made me happy in the long run. I was happy for a short time but after the 'thrill' of attainment, I needed something else to 'come to me' ... so I had no lasting happiness.
Finally .... I grew up. Took me about 65 years to do that. Well, thank God for that, .. as late as it was in coming.
You see, .. happiness comes from inside us FIRST. Then, THAT happiness ... as it grows, attracts happiness from the outside .... and one feeds the other and one ends up with a pretty good life.
I think you are looking for happiness to exclusively come from the outside ... a lucky break, "one day light will come into my life, something good will happen to me" (your words).
I want you to research two subjects. 1. How to gain self esteem. 2. How to love (find happiness within) yourself.
These are not things that come naturally. We must LEARN how to do them. Google each one and get a book(s) on each one. Instead of watching TV, read 'em.
Sooooo, seek and ye shall find. Sit alone watching TV will not present the reward.
