Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.

i have no one it makes it so hard to want to keep going. Oddly I like who I am as a person & don't want to change but no one else seems to like me. People can tell I'm depressed but no one even cares to ask they just like to point out I'm in a bad mood or seem unhappy. I just seem to bug everyone so why not make it easy and end my life?

So if you know you are in a bad mood and people don't want to be around you because you are in a bad mood, and you hate that you "have no one" .... how can you say that you like yourself and want to change nothing..... this is obviously a part you are not happy with and maybe can work on changing to improve your everyday life.

Hi there, sometimes when a person is depression, it can be a bit challenging for the people around to "like" us in a sense. The people around may like or love you, but without a real knowledge of why you are the way you are, it might at the same time make them feel vulnerable to approach you as they might not know how to handle or react towards your depression. How about going to just one friend whom you can trust and talk to him/her about what you are going through and see how things take off?? Hope this helps. Be well and take care. God bless!

yeah i gotta say, nobody contemplating suicide should be thinking about doing it to make things easier for others (I know, in an ideal world no one should be contemplating suicide, but thats just not gonna happen). Loneliness is definitely one of the vicious cycles of depression; the more lonely you get, the worse the depression gets, which makes you less able to go out and be social, which perpetuates the cycle. It's awful. I like nightingale's advice of going to just one person (family, friend, church minisiter etc) to ask for their candid opinion coming from a loving place. Do you know why you are depressed in the first place? some people don't entirely know. Are you functioning on the day to day stuff? like working/ in school etc?

I have my daughter and grandson, but basically don't have any friends to hang out with, so most of the time I am alone. I too am comfortable with myself, but still lonely sometimes. I was really depressed before I got closer to my higher power, which is for me Jesus, but if you have a higher power your could relate to, I think it might help. Just a suggestion, but I have an idea how you feel. Hope things get better. People can also feel and tell when someone is lonely or depressed so that could be keeping them away, maybe.
