Depression Support Group
Depression is a real and debilitating condition that is often misunderstood by family and friends. Its meaning can range from a prolonged period of sadness to an actual mental illness with specific symptoms. Find and share experiences with others who are going through the same struggles.
Watching SVU is also something I enjoy - especially the older episodes with Christopher Meloni. I heard there is a new show coming out soon starring Meloni that is a spin off of SVU and that there will be crossover episodes, so I'm looking forward to that.
A good night's sleep is always satisfying - my cat makes me happy too.
I used to think overeating made me happy but really it was just covering up pain and unresolved trauma. There was nothing wrong with using food as comfort - this is ingrained in us from birth, but with lots of work and therapy, I don't feel the need to use food quite so much to soothe myself.
Really, there are lots of things that make me happy - sunrises, coming home from a busy day, the fact that my car still runs, going to the park, the first good snow....but it wasn't always this way. For a long time I wasn't able to see how much good there actually was in my life.
Tobe honest I'm a man so not much good with things like this I know you will get some advice from someone on DS but good luck hope you get some answers soon.
I'm sorry life is difficult. I think I've told you this time of year is rough because there's not much sunlight. I enjoy reading and watching movies when I have time ( actually I make time to read and relax every day). Hope you feel better. Prayers.
Shopping therapy makes my day. However, I am good at it and keep myself in check not to overdo it. The little things can make a huge difference on one's mood.
