Knowing that my kids are in need of me at the end of each day (even if they are teens and don't think they need a guide through life)
It's a terrible way to choose to cope, especially when others in your family start. Makes me feel like a failure as a mother.
Knowing that I have to be better for them helps though.
When I think about leaving this world my husband says, "Look at this little face, he wouldn't know what to do without his mama". Refering to our rescued Boston Terrier, "Romeo". My doctor makes me promise I will go to the hospital before I take my life.
Having my friends here on DS to reach out to really helps. I've been on for eight hours through the night. Seen friends come and go, and we've made each other laugh. It was a good night.
